Fast and Easy Baked Polenta Fries- move over French Fries! We have a new favorite side!

Fast and Easy Baked Polenta Fries

These Fast and Easy Baked Polenta Fries have quickly become a staple in my house! I whip these up as a snack or as a side dish for grilled veggies. These fries have a delicious, crispy exterior and a creamy middle. You can use everything from pesto to garlic (vegan) mayo as a dipping sauce, but my favorite is marinara.

If you’re unfamiliar with polenta, it’s a versatile ingredient that consists of cornmeal. It can be served hot, like a porridge or you can let it cool and solidify into a loaf that can be baked, fried, or grilled.

Polenta is naturally low in calories and fat. It has a subtle, corn flavor that works in a wide variety of dishes. It’s also vegan and gluten-free.

Polenta takes a long time (approximately 45 minutes) to cook and it needs frequent stirring. Luckily, pre-cooked polenta rolls are widely available at the grocery store. You simply slice and saute fry, bake, broil or grill.

Slice the polenta in half lengthwise. Then slice each half into 4 lengthwise sections. Finally, cut the sections in half horizontally. Make sure that the slices are a similar thickness so the fries cook evenly.

Arrange the fires on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with salt and pepper.

Bake for 25 minutes and then flip the fries over using a spatula. Bake for an additional 20 minutes.

Sprinkle with Italian seasoning, dip in marinara sauce ad enjoy!
