Easy and Delicious Vegan Chocolate Hummus

Chocolate hummus may sound a little unusual, but it is surprisingly delicious! This healthy alternative to chocolate sauce is a great addition to dessert charcuterie boards. It’s thick, creamy, and slightly sweet. Unlike chocolate sauce, this hummus is loaded with protein and fiber thanks to the chickpeas. It’s also dairy-free and gluten-free.

canned Chickpeas (garbanzo beans)- drain and rinse

1 tbsp tahini

1/2 tsp pure vanilla extract

1/2 tsp salt

3 tbsp cocoa powder

2 tbsp water

What to serve with this chocolate hummus recipe?

This dessert hummus is best served with crunchy fruit and salty snacks.

Strawberries, bananas, and sliced apples- perfect for snacking, and they make a pretty presentation.

Graham crackers- this is my favorite way to eat chocolate hummus- so good!

Pretzels- the sweet and salty combination can’t be beaten.

If you’re creating a snack board, dried fruit and nuts (peanuts, almonds, cashews) are also great additions.
