Vegan Apple Galette

Indulge in the delectable flavors of a classic apple galette, made entirely vegan. With tender slices of tart apples, a flaky and golden pastry crust, and just the right balance of cinnamon and sweetness, this galette is a celebration of nature’s bounty. Whether enjoyed as a cozy family treat or a stunning centerpiece for your next gathering, this vegan apple galette is a delectable ode to the joys of fall.

Is a galette easiest to bake than a pie?

  1. No pie dish required: Galettes are free-form, which means you don’t need a pie dish or a specific pie pan. You simply roll out the dough, place the filling in the center, and fold the edges over the filling. This makes the preparation simpler, as you don’t have to worry about fitting the dough into a pie dish or creating a top crust.
  2. Minimal shaping: Galettes have a rustic and casual appearance, so you don’t need to worry about crimping the edges or creating intricate designs. You can simply fold the edges of the dough over the filling in a rough and uneven manner.
  3. Fewer steps: Traditional pies often involve creating a bottom crust, adding the filling, and then adding a top crust, which can be more time-consuming and require more precision. Galettes typically have just one layer of pastry, making them quicker to assemble.
  4. Versatile filling options: Galettes can be filled with a wide variety of fruits, vegetables, or even savory ingredients, making them adaptable to your taste preferences and what’s in season.

While galettes are easier to make than traditional pies, they still deliver a delicious and impressive dessert. Their simplicity and rustic charm make them an excellent choice for both beginner and experienced bakers.
