Easy Vegan Oreo Pie Crust

A vegan Oreo crust is a plant-based alternative to traditional pie crusts made with butter or shortening. It is made with crushed Oreo cookies and a small amount of vegan butter, which is used to hold the crust together. This type of crust is typically used as a base for no-bake pies, cheesecakes, and other desserts, and it has a rich, chocolatey flavor that pairs well with a variety of fillings.

Unlike dough-based crusts this Vegan Oreo crust is beginner-friendly and foolproof. The Oreos are crushed in a food processor and then mixed with melted vegan butter. Next, the mixture is poured into a greased pie dish and pressed into shape.

Are Oreo Vegan?

Oreo cookies do not contain any animal-derived ingredients and are safe to eat for vegans. If you have a dairy allergy, keep in mind that Oreos have milk as cross-contact.

Is this any better than the pre-made Oreo pie crusts at the grocery store?

Definitely! This pie crust takes minutes to prepare and it takes much better than the pre-made ones. Also, this crust is thicker than the ones at the grocery store.

Easy Vegan Oreo Pie Crust

Ingredients needed:
2 cups crushed Oreos (regular, not Double Stuffed) (roughly 22 sandwich cookies)
5 tbsp melted vegan butter

Directions:

Add the Oreo cookies (don’t remove the cream centers) to a food processor or high-speed blender.

Mix until they are in small pieces. The smaller the crumbs, the better your crust will hold together.

Stir in the melted vegan butter and transfer the mixture to a greased pie dish. Press the mixture down and up the sides of the dish using either your fingers or the bottom of a measuring cup.

Your pie crust is now ready for filling!
